I love this boot it’s excellent for going out to special events.

Excellent! I tried on some other JM boots, and these where the most comfortable, and in my opinion stylish. I bought the black initially, and now I’m getting the brown.

I love a wingtip boot. I bought these and the lug split in less than a year. I have typically had a great experience with Johnston and Murphy and want to keep them as a future option so I hope they get the quality issues addressed. I wish they had a wingtip boot with a lug sole but had a little dressier cordovan option.

Great sole! I wear these boots hard and the soles hold up well.

Absolutely beautiful boot!! Unfortunately, they didn’t fit hubby so we had to return them. As always, Zappos is great to work with!!!

After 6 months of occasional wear ( about 10 total wears) the heel broke off during a vacation. Real shame, good looking boots and comfortable. But very upset that the right sole of the heel completely detached.

They gave me a big blister on the heel. Wish I can take them back

Comfortable for boots, the laces came off a few times, like the look, fit and finish, definitely recommend them, reviewer with the 1 star should go wear crocs for comfort

After one week of wearing, the stitching has separated from near one of the zippers.

As a longtime Johnson and Murphy customer I was very disappointed with how fast the heel came off. I purchased two pair, one black, one brown, and the black pair fell apart. The brown ones are still holding up pretty good so far. I glued the heel back on and even put some screws in it to keep it on as it kept coming off.

I own a pair, these are very stiff at the bottom- looks great but cracked outer bottom sole after just few uses. If you want boots to look great on the shelf, then buy this. If you want boots to wear, consider higher quality boots. These are definitely not worth the price. I can load pictures, you can see the boot pretty much new but dry, broken at the bottom from lightly being used. If the bottom sole was more flexible, then this would be a 5 star- otherwise not worth the price.

Great boot, I only wore them three times so far but I feel like they’re going to get even better with age.

Had these for a year now. Laces are unraveling, and I can’t find exact replacements. Also, the leather is becoming too loose around the foot.

I love this shoe. and most JM shoes. However, JM can not make a shoe lace to save their lives. Mine broke in less than a month and JM has very little help options to replace them

Really love my XC Flex Wingtips but I was walking around at work today and my left boots heel fell off, I took a look at the other one and it’s about halfway worn off as well! Really unfortunate, as I love these boots.

That’s right – its my last pair. After 3 attempts to get a boot from Johnston and Murphy that can keep a heel, I have given up. I own 5 other pairs of JM shoes, but my customer experiences have been horrible. While the lady who took my call was kind enough – she is hamstrung by policy. I have had 2 other pairs of JM boots, the Welsh i believe that also lost their heels that I returned to a store and exchanged, actually being charged for the last pair. On september 23, 2023, I acquired the boot I’m posting to. I have worn them maybe 30 days to work, and office job. Today, while walking to a meeting, the heel fell off. Where I am frustrated is what I need to do – drive almost an hour away, ship a package, I took photos of the heel, the condition of the shoe, the markings inside…. but alas, its now my job to fix what clearly must be a problem with the shoes. While i like the look, I can no longer vouch for JM. Beyond frustrated… can anyone recommend a quality boot??

Great boot, I always buy shoes when I have the opportunity to visit the US

They look great, but the true cost is somewhere around twice the price they quote… you will have to replace them no less than once a year. I have had 6 pairs now (brown and black), and the heel comes off at least once a year. But I’m committed to them because of how great they look . Just be prepared – it does makes travelling a real challenge because you always have to bring a spare set of non-JM shoes. It’s no fun walking around with your left leg one inch shorter than your right leg. And kind of embarrassing during important meetings
